SCOTTISH WOMENS AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP 22nd - 24th MAY 2026- SOUTHERNESS GC. ALCGA players Freya Russell (Royal Troon), Hannah Ounap Loudoun) and Orla Moran (Irvine) progressed to the matchplay stages Freya and Hannah were in the top 16 qualifiers to make through to the Championship Matchplay and Orla qualified in the next 16 qualifiers to advance to the Clark Rosebowl Matchplay. All 3 played on Saturday morning. Freya was drawn to play the current Scottish Champion, Susan Woodhouse, who she played last year in the thrilling Championship Final at Western Gailes,which went to the 18th. This morning Susan won at the 19th hole to advance to play in the afternoon. Hannah was beaten 3&1 by Ailsa Brannock. Orla played Cori Lee, the 5th qualifier, in the Clark Rosebowl.This was only Orla’s second time playing in the Scottish Championship and this year she went one stage further. ALCGA CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING AT DUNDONALD LINKS 27th April 2026 Tuesday Matchplay Update It was a strong day of competition for the qualifying strokeplay round at Dundonald , with fabulous weather on one of Ayrshire’s finest courses. The matchplay stage takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday with the final on Wednesday afternoon. Spectators are encouraged to come along. Match Summary by Angela Hughes (ALCGA Competition Organiser) Finalists:- Jacqueline Train & Anne Gilbert (Largs) vs Gillian Pollock & Alyson Hutton (Skelmorlie) On a very cold and windy day, the ALCGA Final delivered a closely contested and exciting match between Largs and Skelmorlie. Jacqueline Train and Anne Gilbert of Largs made a strong start, racing into an early lead by winning three of the opening four holes. The fifth hole was halved, but Gillian Pollock and Alyson Hutton responded impressively, rallying to win the 6th, 7th, and 9th holes. Their comeback ensured the match was all square at the turn. The final of the McColl Salver played at Ballochmyle Golf course 17th September Finalists were Sheena Stewart (Irvine CG) and Maria Watson (Troon Wellbeck).The game was very tight with both players winning holes and having some great shots until finally Sheena won on the 15th hole. ALCGA thanks Ballochmyle GC for their hospitality in hosting this match.
