Louise Duncan got off to a great start with two rounds of 77 and 75 to qualify for the match play stages of the above Championship at Ardglass in Ireland. Out of only 4 Scots entered, Louise and Hannah Darling, the girl who defeated Louise in the final of the Scottish Girls' Championship earlier in the year, made the cut of the top 64 from an entry of 140. The standard is exceptionally high in this field that includes a vast number of players from overseas. Louise beat her first round German opponent, Nina Lang 2&1 to progress to the second round where she came up against England's Sophie Johnson unfortunately losing by 2holes. Very well done Louise 😊
Playing in the above event at Murrayfield this week, Rachel Foster finished in joint 2nd place with two rounds that included 7 birdies! Her scores of 77 and 73 for 150 (+4) was 1 shot behind the winner Filipa Capelo from Portugal. Congratulations Rachel - a superb performance in a strong field of continental competitors 😊
Rachel is continuing her good form....she had rounds of 71, 72 and 70 (Par 71) over Bruntsfield Links this week in the Scottish leg of the Faldo Series to win by 7 shots over her nearest rival. This victory gives her a trip to Dubai at the end of November to play in the Grand Final.
Playing in the St. Andrews University Schoolgirls Championship, Rachel Foster had three super rounds to finish on 214 to win very comfortably over her nearest rivals. Rachel's scores were as follows:-
Strathtyrum 67 CSS 66
Eden 69 CSS 72
Jubilee 78 CSS 76
Claire McLaughlin scored 68, 82, 81 to finish in 6th place. Well done girls!
