Happy new year to all lady golfers of Ayrshire I hope you are all well, and enjoyed the festive season. After a turbulent start to my 1st year as ALCGA captain, things have quickly settled down and the committee and myself are committed to driving Ayrshire onward and upward, Thanks to all Ayrshire lady members and friends who joined us at Barassie, for our cookery demonstration night. Which everyone enjoyed, and proves there’s more to life than golf. Watch this space for our next social event, hopefully March time. These events and golf competitions don’t run by themselves, and I really do appreciate all committee members, who strive to make Ayrshire enjoyable for everyone We have made a concerted effort to recruit new members, please see your notice boards, where county reps post news on memberships, winter ties & social events. Louise Duncan (West Kilbride) was the only Scot to qualify into the finals of the Telegraph Vitality Junior Golf Championship where only the top 7 girls in the G.B. & I. have the opportunity to play at Quinta do Lago in Portugal....the remaining two places are for the 2016 winner plus a sponsor's invite.   The 54 hole final finished today, results are as follows:- Annabell Fuller (71, 74, 70) -1 Lily May Humphreys (74, 75, 79) +12 Martha Lewis (79, 80, 74) +17 Charlotte Heath (70. 81, 82) +17 Annabel Wilson (75, 79, 80) +18 Hannah Screen (74, 82, 78) +18 Jessica Hall (79, 83, 75) +21 Louise Duncan (77, 82, 80) +23 Ana Dawson (78, 82, 84) +28 Very well done Louise, hope you had an amazing trip! ðŸ˜Š

Honorary Membership for Connie Jaffrey

At last nights AGM the members unanimously accepted the proposal of Connie Jaffrey, Troon Ladies, for Honorary Membership of the Ayrshire Ladies County Golf Association. New Captain, Liz Wilson, Barassie, highlighted a number of Connie's many golfing achievements over the past 9 years. From her debut in the Junior Kennedy Salver team in 2008, aged 12, to winning the Scottish Ladies Amateur Championship this year and many other highs in between! Connie is in her final year at Kansas State University where she recently picked up her 4th individual title with an impressive 3 round total of 9 under par. Connie was absolutely delighted to accept this honour.
Rachel Foster  (Turnberry) has been selected to represent Scotland in an Under 16's match against England at Montrose Links from 30th September - 1st October.   Massive congratulations Rachel, we're sure you'll do well!   Enjoy  😊

Scottish Girls Under 14's

Rachel Foster (Turnberry) finished in 8th place with rounds of 81 and 79 (+12) in the Scottish Girls' Under 14 Open at Crail.  Well done Rachel!   Hannah Darling the 13 year old winner of the Scottish Girls' last month won the Under 14's with a 2 under par total.
