ALCGA WINTER PAIRS FINAL Match: held at Troon Portland on Thursday 26th March. Match Summary by Angela Hughes (ALCGA Competition Organiser) Finalists:- Jacqueline Train & Anne Gilbert (Largs) vs Gillian Pollock & Alyson Hutton (Skelmorlie) On a very cold and windy day, the ALCGA Final delivered a closely contested and exciting match between Largs and Skelmorlie. Jacqueline Train and Anne Gilbert of Largs made a strong start, racing into an early lead by winning three of the opening four holes. The fifth hole was halved, but Gillian Pollock and Alyson Hutton responded impressively, rallying to win the 6th, 7th, and 9th holes. Their comeback ensured the match was all square at the turn.
