AYRSHIRE LADIES COUNTY GOLF ASSOCIATION

Ballochmyle Golf Club are hosting a 9 hole open competition followed by Afternoon tea on Sunday 10 July from 1300 - 1500 Entry to the event is £12 and can be made via the Scottish Golf App There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd place in 3 handicap categories - up to 20, 20-36 and 36+ An enjoyable afternoon and good to support one of our Ayrshire Clubs.

A lovely day at Hilton Park on Monday for this years junior Inter County matches. It wasn't our year this year but the girls had a great day and tried their very best. Congratulations to the winning Renfrewshire team who were in excellent form. Thanks to D&A for hosting, to all the junior Secretaries for looking after the girls and making this event happen and especially Gaynor for all her had work with the Ayrshire Juniors.

Good luck to Louise Duncan (West Kilbride) who starts the defence of her British Amateur title at Hunstanton Golf Club in Norfolk today. Live scoring is available on the R&A website 

On day 3 at the Jamboree the home side Lanarkshire were just too strong for Ayrshire as they won the title for the first time since 2004. Needing a strong start this morning Ayrshire took one of the 3 foursomes matches which left 4 out of 6 singles needed to win. Unfortunately it wasn't to be with Lanarkshire gaining 4 and a half points. The Ayrshire team did so well finishing second this year at an away venue and look forward to Williamwood next year. Thanks to everyone who supported in person or with texts, cards and good wishes. Also a huge thanks to our loyal caddies, we couldn't do it without you.
