AYRSHIRE LADIES COUNTY GOLF ASSOCIATION

Ayrshire Ladies team member Luisa Gibson (Irvine Golf Club) carded 2 rounds of 72 to finish the stroke play event in second place on 2 over par. Fantastic scoring. She was joined in the match play stages by Hannah Ounap (Loudoun Gowf Club) who qualified tied 3rd on 5 over par. In a nail biting first round Luisa won her match at the 19th hole but, unfortunately, Hannah lost, in another close game, by 2&1 Luisa lost out in the afternoon quarter finals against an in form Ailsa Brannock (Southerness). Having missed out for the championship match play by one shot, Freya Russell (Royal Troon) had an excellent run in the Clark Rosebowl making it all the way to the final. Unfortunately Freya lost at the 17th hole in a tight final to local girl Eilidh Henderson 

Good luck to the following members playing in the event at Ladybank this weekend - Joanne Sharp, Luisa Gibson, Sarah Ramsay and Freya Russell Two rounds of strokeplay tomorrow with the top 16 going through to the matchplay

Ninety eight ladies enjoyed a beautiful day at West Kilbride for our annual Foursomes competition.  First Scratch Joanne Sharp and Sarah Ramsay 80 Second Scratch Liz Wilson and Linda McDonald 84 First Handicap was Deborah Barton and Grace Malone 89 - 20 = 69 Second Handicap Maureen Shimmons and Diane Shaw 89 - 19 = 70 Well done ladies Full results are available on HowdidIdo 

Congratulations to Susan Woodhouse (Lanarkshire) on becoming the new West of Scotland Champion after an excellent score of 72 round Milngavie on Sunday. Lanarkshire also won both the Senior and Junior team events - Winner of the best Handicap was Lori MacDonald (D&A)
