AYRSHIRE LADIES COUNTY GOLF ASSOCIATION

Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM and Prizegiving last night at West Kilbride Golf Club. Well done to all of this year's prizewinners! Please join me in welcoming our new captain Joanne Sharp from Barassie Golf Club and her new Vice Captain Ann Wallace from St Nicholas Golf Club. All the best for the next two years and good luck to all the ALCGA members for next season.

Playing East Champions Fife on the first day they took a lead of 2-1 into the afternoon singles which they won by an impressive 5-1 to give their first win of the competition by a total of 7-2. Dear county member, Thank you in advance to those of you who have volunteered to TrolleyPull next weekend, at the inter county championship Finals, at Peebles Golf Club. For the new members, or for those of you who are not quite sure what’s happening, next week. In June Ayrshire LCGA, won the west of Scotland inter county championship at Prestwick GC. We now go on to represent the west against Fife,Perth & Kinross Dumfrieshire. This will be an exciting weekend for Team Ayrshire, they will be up against the cream of ladies amateurs golfers from all over Scotland. We are still 4 Trolley pullers short for Friday and Sunday. If you can spare a morning or afternoon to help out we would really appreciate it, please get in touch :) If you only have a couple of hours spare the Team would love to see some Ayrshire support on the course, sporting Yellow and Green of course. Freya won the girls scratch with a 1 under par 74 over the Portland course at Royal Troon’s junior open The Byrne Howard in tough windy conditions.  Luisa Gibson was 2nd Nett with a 73 Louise Milligan 1st Nett with a 72  Along the road at West Kilbride Claire McLaughlin won the ladies club championship 

We did it! After only winning one of our foursome matches in the morning the Ayrshire Ladies fought back taking 5 out of the 6 points on offer in the afternoon singles to win the final day 6 points to 3. Final Scores: Ayrshire (6points) Lanarkshire (4points) Renfrewshire (1 point count back) D&A (1 point) County Finals will be held at Peebles Golf Club on the 30th of August till the 1st of September, so get it in your diaries we need caddies and supporters to get us over the line!! Congratulations to everyone that played this week it was a tough test of golf, not only was the course relentless, the constant weather changes were forever keeping us on our toes. Also thank you to everyone we came out to watch, your support out there is greatly appreciated (I'll admit the new uniforms does make Ayrshire supporters easy to spot)
