Ayrshire runners up at Strathaven

On day 3 at the Jamboree the home side Lanarkshire were just too strong for Ayrshire as they won the title for the first time since 2004.

Needing a strong start this morning Ayrshire took one of the 3 foursomes matches which left 4 out of 6 singles needed to win. Unfortunately it wasn't to be with Lanarkshire gaining 4 and a half points.

The Ayrshire team did so well finishing second this year at an away venue and look forward to Williamwood next year.

Thanks to everyone who supported in person or with texts, cards and good wishes. Also a huge thanks to our loyal caddies, we couldn't do it without you.

Second win at the jamboree

Another tense afternoon at Strathaven watching the singles matches against D&A.

The girls pulled through with 3 wins out of 6 to hey an overall win today by 6 points to 3.

Deciding match tomorrow against lanarkshire who have also had 2 wins out of 2

Day 2 at Strathaven

In the morning foursomes against D&A, Ayrshire had a clean sweep in the foursomes.

Success on day one

In a tense afternoon the girls pulled it out the bag! Needing 3 points for the win we won the singles by 3.5 to 2.5 making the overall score 5.5 to 3.5 for Ayrshire.

Day one at strathaven

After the morning foursomes on day one of the Jamboree, Ayrshire take a 2-1 lead into the afternoon singers against Renfrewshire.

Two games were halved after a convincing win by Sarah Ramsay and Jenny Linklater.

The final of the Inter County Foursomes took place at Elderslie today. Unfortunately due to illness and to car trouble we didn't have an entry in the scratch event but congratulations to Jocelyn Faris and Jane Gillen who collected 2nd prize in the handicap section with a nett 73

Thanks to Renfrewshire ladies for hosting the event this year.

Mixed fortunes in Aberdeen

After a very close match, Freya unfortunately lost on the 17th hole in the first round of the match play.

In the Clark Rosebowl Luisa won her first round match at the 18th. In the afternoon she was one down playing the last hole but managed to win that and go on to book her place in the semi final by winning at the 21st hole

Good luck today Luisa

Scottish Update

On a day of high scoring in Aberdeen, congratulations to Freya Russell (Royal Troon) who has qualified for the match play stages of the Scottish Women's Amateur championship.

Freya finished in 9th place out of a field of 78 with rounds of 75 and 77 which left her on 8 over par.

Commiserations to Luisa Gibson who just missed out on a place in tomorrow's first flight match play having finished on 13 over par in 19th place. However she has qualified for the second flight and will play in the Clark rosebowl.

Well done to all the other Ayrshire players for completing the stroke play rounds today.
